Mad Octahedron is a simulation of a "twisty" permutation puzzle. The puzzle consists of an octahedron with each of the eight faces colored a different color. The octahedron is sliced in half four times on planes midway between each set of two parallel faces. This divides the octahedron into six small octahedrons located at the vertexes and eight tetrahedrons embedded in the center of the faces. The faces of the puzzle may be rotated with respect to their opposite faces, scrambling up the fourteen small puzzle pieces. The challenge of the puzzle is to reorder a scrambled puzzle by turning the faces and restore all eight faces to their pure color.
