Apps these days can do so many things, but not all of them are in the interest of you. CastleGuard can help you out with that. The sandbox which comes with macOS protects and limits apps that are sandboxed from accessing your private data and requires from every sandboxed application to list its capabilities. CastleGuard shows you the capabilities of every single app and you decide whether you trust that application or not. Beside that CastleGuard gives you additional information about the developer and about the application, which version the application has and if the app is running or not.
